"If you spend the majority of your days in the company of babies, toddlers, tweens or teens, then your happiness will be directly proportional to your ability to laugh often and enjoy the chaos. The child-rearing years, in particular, are meant to be hectic, playful, and fun!"

From Chrysalis to Butterfly

Every year we buy Chrysalis's through ECFE. This year was no exception. When the chrysalis turns black, the butterfly will emerge within 24 hrs. Unfortunately, we've never witnessed them emerging. The kids always name the butterflies. The names this year were: Wilson (Braeden), Cornflake (Preston) and Muffin (Laken). Just like in all previous years, everyone is too afraid to take the butterfly out of their cups with their fingers. So, Braeden's tactic was to dump it onto a flower. It took several tries for the butterfly to make its way out. Preston got lucky and his flew out and I removed Laken's the proper way by having it sit on my finger and then, placing it on a plant. It is something we look forward to each summer.
