Laken's dance studio always has a dress rehearsal the week of the recital during your allotted class time. It is for parents to come in and take pictures and video as there is no pictures and video allowed during the actual performance. This year her ballet number is Dance Ballerina Dance, which her teacher told is, is a bit harder for the girls as there is a portion that does not have any words to it so it is harder for them to remember the steps at this age.
This is her first year performing two numbers and doing tap. It took this dance clueless mom awhile to figure how to put those bows on her tap shoes. She danced to Papa loves Mambo and the costumes were right up her ally as the were totally princess looking complete with a crown and a wand for the ballet portion. After dress rehearsal her teacher came and told me what a joy it is having her in class and that she is such a leader. She told me she could do two classes next year. It was all so wonderful to hear, especially since I can't get her to try anything else. She loves, loves her Miss Jill's.
